Moke events in Adelaide
« on: March 15, 2012, 09:13:23 PM »
Is there many Moke events, drives, get together's in Adelaide these days with the various mini & mini moke clubs or do most Moke owners tend to keep to themselves alot? Can any one advise which is a good club in SA. to be involved with? Also is it easy to & do most moke owners register the vehicle as a classic being over thirty years old? Thanks Terry ( Greenwith SA)

Hi,

There is a the South Australian Moke Club that a few on here are members of that do runs and weekends away that would be the first choice. Someone in the club can give you the contact details here or via PM. Pete Power or Moke71 most likely the best contacts.

They are having their bi-annual Bush camp at Narracorte over the Easter weekend and few of us from Vic are heading over to catch up with friends etc.

Good to see there's still  some interest in Mokes in SA. How are you going with your info & prices? Hopefully there will be more for sale in SA by the time your bonus comes in because there doesn't seem to be  many for sale in SA at the moment. Hopefully we will all catch up at some stage in the future.

Yeah your right there hasn't been any for sale in SA that I have seen but plenty just across the border.

The minister for finance wants me to get a running (or practically running) moke but where's the fun in that right?

I'm on a bit of a tool buying binge at the moment as well as emptying the shed shelves to make space.

Good to see some more SA Mokers, welcome guys.
In regards to Historic Rego, YES quite a few of the SA Moke Club are going this way, but your Moke must be close to Original, or maybe more to the point not heavily modified and maintain standard components.
Things like Temp Gauges, radios Cd players are acceptable but things like Non Standard bodywork and Bumpers/Roll cages are not.
Happy Mokin
