Hi Terry,

MD informed me this morning that he successfully loaded larger pics and he also checked my account and so I've just tested it myself and Voila it's now working!

So, many thanks if you fixed it Terry.... and if you didn't then there must be gremlins in the system

I can't take the credit for it, but really not sure why it was being limited in the first place as the software normally downsizes the images now if they are bigger than the 150kb limit per image limit.

Sorry to be a bother here but my previous problem downloading images has reoccurred, and this is the message I'm getting if my file size is over the silly limit it imposes:


    Picture exceeds max filesize. Max Filesize is 146.48kB

Sure, I can make them this size precisely but there must be a problem somewhere since you said before Terry that the software should take care of anything over 150kB and that in fact 1mB should be taken care of.....

I would appreciate it if someone could please have a look at it for me. I have pics that I'd like to post but will wait to see what comes of this. I'm using Firefox if this helps you in determining the problem.

Hi,

If anyone else is having similar problems to Mazy, I think we have found the cause.

The gallery will only try to resize images that are too large in height and width - not file size. So it is possible to resize an image yourself to 640 pixels wide or less, but still exceed the maximum file size of 146.48kb. In this case you will get the error message above.

With most photos resizing before uploading will also reduce the file size enough, but obviously not always as in Mazy's example.

Photos above 640 pixels wide will still be resized automatically as before, but the best image quality will come from resizing AND compressing photos yourself.
