Hi,

On IMD, Coxy was in our Convoy and he was crystal clear all day and a chalk and cheese differences to any other person I have been on channel with. I had to look in his Moke and saw he has Iconn brand so if anyone is looking to buy something new and plans to use it a bit then that would be my recommendation, apparently they do cost a bit though.

Lucky I have an Iconn  I picked up at my favourite Op Shop. :)

I wonder sometimes if some of the mics pick up more background noise or wind noise than others making a person harder to understand  have never bothered to ask a radio guru that question but i must

Icom's products can be seen here

Around $400 for the top of the range units I think.

Or sometimes the operator.................... :-\

I'm the first to put my hand up to say I could speak clearer at times  :-[. Pays to remember to keep the mic out of the wind (especially in a Moke) and speak past it rather than into it.

That's correct Mav.

Everyone who's registered should have received a copy of the event summary via email which includes our phone contact numbers and the UHF channels we'll be using (PM me if you haven't)

Just to clarify, Channel 27 will be for group leaders and those involved in running the convoys. Please do not use this one for idle chat to enable us to keep the lines of communication open.

Channel 28 is all yours to do what you like on  :)
