Rod Change - Rod Eye in the shift box.
« on: November 12, 2012, 09:34:59 AM »
Hi,

I have come to the annoying conculsion that I have inserted my rod-change rod-eye extension upside down.  That is why my shifter is sloppy.   ::)

This photo was taken from below with the bottom plate removed.

Mine is mounted the opposite to this one.  ie:  The ring part shown at the bottom is at the top on mine.  Please confirm if I have it the wrong way.

Unfortunately this will mean remaoving the *%^$%#$ shifter again and much gnashing of teeth.   >:(

I don't suppose I have a chance of knocking out the pin and rotating it in the car?

Thanks,

Bad news I'm afraid........

I'd take it out rather than risk breaking the rod eye.

At least it's not a remote type shifter, you'd be taking the gearbox out to sort any problems with them!
Old Moker's never die - they just smell that way

It's not whether you win or loose but how you play the game.

I think this car is starting to hate me.  I should be working on the Rally Van and instead the Moke is throwing up problems.  :(
