May the wind be at your back, the sun a guiding beacon and Biggles off your tailgate....

Have fun all.

the sun a guiding beacon

Just to be clear though, drive away from the sun in the morning and towards it in the afternoon. If you follow it all the time, it's going to be a long trip  :)

Safe travels and have a great time all.

Hi all,
The 'SSM' convoy are enjoying our first night under the stars.
Shorty, Mazy and myself had an early start and made it through to Balranald.
About 9hrs in the saddle and 850kms covered today.

We have currently made camp and the other two are finishing up dinner. (I scoffed mine)

We hope to be on the road by 0800 and have the final approximated 720kms covered in time to enjoy a feed with those already in Port Augusta.

No major issues with the cars- couple of small things but quickly rectified.

The cars haven't missed a beat.

See the rest of you tomorrow!

Yes just finished dinner washed up all good. The moke had battery isu small short and one of the leed poped of after going country to get photo op, all fixed. Great days drive even if it did rain in the begining. The water just gets in the smallest places.  :)

If you see any more of that throw a rope around it and drag it over to Maddog's. A sure way to get the beer fridge open at the Kennel  :D

Really good to hear everything's going so well for everyone so far

To everyone travelling west..... have great, safe and happy mokreing to the far side, have plenty of fun I only wish I could be there for the 'nibblies' in the arvo!  :'( Hope the head winds treat you fairly and the mokes stay in forward motion. A tip for coming home, the winds will be at your back.... make a mast and hoist the roof up put the mokes in 'wobbly cog' and let the wind drive you home!........ Have fun everyone. I will be following your journey with interest. Cheers.

Tells you what! Comfier than expected. Probably coupled with the exhaustion of the big day but smashed out a solid 5hours before a bit of a broken 3hours.

We are in Mildura currently. Few niggly issues this morning- Shorty is having a bit of an issue with his moke breaking down under load at times. He's off to find a new coil suspecting that. So a quick Maccas lunch and off we go.

Hi Samm
Are you filming progress with your gopro?

There hasn't been a whole lot to film!

I will try and get a few clips here and there from now on.

Nope the Hay Plains wouldn't make for very exciting footage  :). If you're waiting for scenic mountain roads, you may have a bit of a wait  ;)
