Front subframe to body fitment

Gday, not sure if I'm in the right place.

I got my moke back from the paint shop, and have fitted the rear and front subframes, with all the fruit on.

Question is, Is ther meant to be a gap, about 10mm or so at the front sub frame to front body? Everything is lined up and bolted together nicely, thers jist this gap. There is a hole in subframe and body where it looks like a bolt must go thru. I just cant remember when I took it apart if there was a shim or bush of some type in there. Ive hundreds of pics I took, but none of this area.

Everything is gapped perfect and fits, so this has me baffled.

If I could post pics I would, but this also jhas me baffled.

Hi,

there is supposed to be a bolt go through the front panel and into the subframe on each side as you suspect.

The gap varies from Moke to Moke and 10mm is not unheard of, some have no gap at all. I sometimes fit a thick washer on larger gaps like you have otherwise you will tend to reshape the light gauge of metal around the hole.

Both of mine have a 6 mm or so gap, I’ve used spacers in there.

Thanks fellas, yeah its probably more like 6mm. Ill pack with washers, or make up a shim.

Mind is now relieved.
